Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning is a formal multi-echelon planning and execution method to protect and promote the flow of relevant information by establishing and managing strategically placed decoupling point stock buffers. It combines some of the relevant aspects of MRP and DRP with the pull and visibility found in Lean and Theory of Constraints as well as the variability reduction emphasized in Six Sigma.  All of these elements are blended through key points utilized in the DDMRP method.
